Getting to the point, for video cards try lowendmac.com they have forums dedicated to ppc and I'm sure they have all the different and best cards available for your g5.
It's actually a group and not a typical forum, but it has hundreds of helpful members. Here's the link (http://lowendmac.com/lists/g-list.shtml) to a page about it, and the link (http://groups.google.com/group/g3-5-list?pli=1) to the actual google group.

Techcrunch is the LAST place I would go, even after deciding to not look any further, I still would not go there or read anything they claim.
Just my opinion.

I would like to create a simple iphone app for my sports team
Why not just make a website?
Agreed, I had missed what the app was about. I don't see anything in the desired feature list that can't be implemented as a plain old mobile-optimized website. Basically all a native app would be doing anyway is retrieving that information from the web and displaying it in a webview.
If you need a book to point you in the right direction, pick up Programming the Mobile Web (http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596807795). Apple also has some resources of their own here: http://www.apple.com/webapps/

Notice how there's very little traffic on this forum right now. I doubt the lines are going to be crazy in most places.

AT&T has told me that if you've got one of the old $30/month unlimited data plans you can use the iPhone as a hotspot with no additional charge.
whoa...i haven't heard that. do you have to contact att to set it up? how do you do that? i'm grandfathered in w/ the unlimited plan still.
edit: i just called. they told me that i couldn't tether at all w/ the unlimited plan. they did happen to mention the free wifi at mcdonalds, starbucks, etc. that i could use. she said it in a funny way that made it at first sound like i could "tether" from that "hotspot" to my phone for free. maybe that was the misunderstanding?

Has anyone verified this actually fixes the hyperthreading problem that reared its ugly head in 9.1.2 (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1030872)?
Well if you mosey on over to OSX Audio (http://www.macosxaudio.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=49112), you might want to check what Markus Fritze has to say...and see what responses are posted there. A lot of Logic users there, who will soon tell you what's going on!

What is a unibody white MacBook? It's either white or an unibody.
It's the white MacBook Apple has been selling for the past 2 years. By Apple's description, it's a "white unibody" MacBook. The current white MacBook design is very different from the previous polycarbonate MacBook design.

trim is only supported on SSD's that you buy from apple, and only recently.
As the other poster said, there haven't been problems with people running 3rd party SSD's w/o trim enabled. In fact some users have reported problems with their drives after enabling trim support.
If you really feel you must have it, search the boards, there is a tutorial here on how to enable it through some simple command lines.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe SSD's with the Sandforce controller such as the Vertex 3 don't need TRIM as the controller takes care of this function.

Yep, and if you take good care of it and it loves you back (i.e. no hardware faults) it should last you 5+ years :)

Hey I'm looking into buying a preferably new Macbook or Macbook Pro. I need one soon as I'm moving out for my freshman year of college. The two things I'm mainly concerned about is 500+GB, and 4GB Processor. I was wondering what might be some good places to begin looking for the right laptop.

Being less than 2 weeks old it could still be some of the chemicals and coatings still cooking off...though it might be a safe bet to get it looked at thoroughly before something unexpected happens.

Original Quicksilver had a very poor cooling solution with not much in the way of airflow. The original fan blew out if not mistaken. But that makes little sense in my view. I would have that fan sucking cool air from outside and blowing it across that sink into the system. Even open up a few of those holes on the back with a drill if you must its what i did. The big fan above the hard disc moves air to the outside of the unit. Also i dont know how you feel about this but i have notice manufactors are sloppy and stingy when applying the silicone compound between the cpu & sink. Make sure that CPU is coated 100% before mounting the heat sink. Also Quicksilver came with 2 fan guards on the power supply. One on the unit and one on the case. Remove one of these guards for even better flow of air. For example i had a 1.4 Merc extreme that would run all day at 1.47 after i made these cooling mods. quicksilver for the most part baths the componets in other componets heat and then sends that air across the sink out the system. Reverse that for better cooling. good luck.
he is right i now own this beast if machine and i have it running at 1.47ghz
it run quite cool, considering. Drilling the holes in the back will bring down its resale value, but if you plan to keep it it is a good option.
If you are not using and dont plan to use your pci slots i sugest, putting an out fan down there for just a little more additional cooling.
