I use free Dell laser/optical mice that i get from work and Logitech wireless models. I'm not much of a gamer. So, I don't require precision in mine.

Most wallpaper sites will have 1680x1050 as an option, as most current 17 inch monitors use that resolution. InterfaceLIFT (http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper_beta/) is a site I usually go to. You could try HDWallpapers (http://www.hdwallpapers.net) too. ;)

Don't know your taste, but Andrew Sergovia (great spanish style), Dave Matthews w/ Tim Reynolds is good (Tim Reynolds is awesome!), Dispatch, Iron and Wine, Nick Drake...see how you like those.

The southpark mall in Charlotte NC opens at 6am and only one door opens at that time. So I am getting there around 5:30am. Maybe I'll get lucky and no one will show up that early :)
Make sure you give us updates on the line :) I will be there between 7-8am if AT&T screwed up my pre-order...

There is no way to change the graphics chip on ANY iMac. They are all soldered to the logic board.
More RAM + faster harddrive is about all you can do.
I specifically remember them saying they replaced the graphics card on my DV SE G3 500 iMac when i had it repaired under warranty years ago, now if that means it can be upgraded i doubt it, but from the way it sounded was like it was a seperate card and not part of the logic board.

LCDs looks horrible when not ran at their native resolution. You will definitely want to run it at 2560x1600. If the text is too small, sit closer or make the fonts bigger.
I am going to be picking up my new 27" iMac at the store tomorrow. For the past 4 years I have been using a 24" Dell at 1920x1200. Since the 27" iMac is 2560x1140, do most people run it at native or something lower?
I am looking forward to the increased screen size so I can have more rows/columns viewable, but not sure I want them any smaller.
I sit about 24-30" away from the screen.
How would the 27" look at something lower?
SHEESH!
2560x1440
@Topic, it looks horrible if not run at native res.

And, to answer the OP:
- Running games at 2560x1440, with lower textures, I find, is better than running it at 1080p, with higher texture.
- When browsing the web, documents, etc. keep it at native resolution, otherwise it looks like rubbish.

Hello World, my first post on macrumors
I tried searching but most of the information was not in recent time, so figured to post a new thread.
I bought a used 3GS 8GB yesterday from a person. The phone is unlocked and jailbroken.
Here is the relevant information:
Version: 4.3.2 (8H7)
Model: MC640LL
Modem Firmware (baseband, i think): 06.15.00
Currently I am using it with T-Mobile, so I know it is unlocked properly.
My question is....
The phone has apps and settings from the previous user. I want to 'reset' or 'restore' or something like that to remove all settings and content from previous user.
If I go to Settings --> General --> Reset and perform a reset, will my phone still be usable with T-Mobile?
Thank you all. Hope I provided enough info to answer.
you need to restor with custom firmware, because of the 6.15.00 baseband.
then jailbreak and install ultrasnow.
hurry up because 4.3.3 was released and might not be jailbreakable.
if you have SHSH for 4.3.2. or anything earlier, you will be OK.

Basically you can't do this in one line.
Ah, that is unfortunate... Ah well, so be it.
Thanks for the replies, robbieduncan and jiminaus.

ha! i actually bought this cd off itunes a few months ago. could do with some more sequencing and layering. but what it is great for is sampling. i took one of the ink cartridge hitting the side of the caseing sounds and processed it into a kick drum. heres a rough mix.

No need to be rude...
More importantly, this is the build that Apple is considering to be a GM1″ revision internally
Was just wondering if that means it is already featured-locked.

Still no scanner support for MP600.....
The MP600 scanner drivers are available from the canon web site. I wonder why Apple did not include them.
Navigate to http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010396.asp, select Mac OS X, and click submit to filter non-OS X drivers. The file is named 'ScanGear CS for OS X (12.13.1)'. It's located quite at the bottom of the list.

I second that. And my car.
Snow and ice together...Last night ride was a fun ride (once I got at my parents' place), though terrible (when I was behind the wheel) :)
Had to get a snow type truck to get me out of the snow, or that'd have been a stuck-in-the-snow-in-my-car type of Xmas eve.

I expected the end of the year break.
When I heard the rumor about Thanksgiving, I was taken aback. With iOS 4.2 launching soon, and getting new features and bug fixes out to support the new OS, it would be rough on end-users and developers to take that week off.
I'm glad we'll still have access across Thanksgiving.

I have my Xbox doing 1080p thru component and it looks fine. I have not tried HDDVD yet but assume it will be OK.
One thing I did notice, When I had it set to 1080i and a played a DVD, the TV would IDENT the source as 480p, now no matter what I put in the Xbox it IDENTs the source as 1080p.
The Xbox doesn't upscale DVDs over component. Here's a good FAQ on the issue, http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=477767 . I does do it over VGA, though.

What could I have done differently to achieve better scale?
You do it here http://forums.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=282021&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1303178540
In this picture the mountain looks a lot bigger and the eye is drawn to it like your going along a path to its base.

Whats the point of banning if they can just make a new user?
It lets them know that their posting habits were not acceptable and that they are no longer welcome. Some of these users leave for good because it's clear that this site doesn't suit them. Some contact us to blame us for their behavior while others contact us to debate the details of their situation.
And yes, some of them re-register. They are often identified to the moderators by users who recognize them, or are spotted by the moderators themselves. The people who get banned, i.e., users who break rules and are uncooperative in the first place, tend not to change personality and as a result often end up getting banned again for the same reason they did the first time. Very few want to play cat-and-mouse this way for long since they aren't able to use the forums as other users do. No doubt there are some re-registrants who haven't been caught, but there's not much we can do about that. There will always be immature users and we'll always need to rely on forum users to report their inappropriate posts, but the job of the moderators is to minimize the problems they cause for other users.

Allume is a leading provider of compression software solutions that enable state of the art compression, security and archiving of data including JPEG, MPEG and MP3 platforms. The Company's pioneering product suite known as StuffIt has been a de facto industry standard since 1986.I suppose the Aladdin software -- StuffIt, Internet Cleanup, Spring Cleaning, etc. -- will stay the same, but with yet another new owner.

I tried all suggestions in this thread and the song still won't play on Mac's IE or Firefox. It is not just my computer that won't cooperate, it is also the client's computer.
Try this link... http://www.saucedesigns.com/sauce.html (warning - the song will immediately play when you load this link... it is designed to be a pop-up that is initiated by the customer... so they don't have to listen if they don't want to!)
You will see how the song plays on Mac's Safari, but not IE/Firefox. It plays just fine on IE/Firefox for PC, so it isn't a browser-specific thing, it has to be a Mac/PC thing. Right?
Thanks!
Define your mime type in .htaccess...If that doesn't work, call your host and they may be able to update the settings..
