The iMac is going to be faster than the MacPro. Which I think is pretty sad. The MacPro will give you more expansion opportunities, but if you don't need them it's a moot point. You could throw on a Promise RAID hooked into Thunderbolt and get extremely fast transfer speeds. I would get the iMac and start saving for the next major upgrade in the MacPro line. I wouldn't buy any current Mac that didn't have Thunderbolt.

Well said. :)
I couldn't care less about the iWalk. It's was just a rumor. It's as dead as OS 9. Let's move on. Spymac doesn't do rumors anymore. Apple has made that clear. It's just a community. That's why the trailer was made, to serve the community, and give a few insights as to what is coming in the next major update to the site. The administrators could have done sod-all, but decided to make a trailer to entertain.

Thanks for the heads up! I think I'm actually going to Target first . . .I've heard that some targets have started handing out vouchers already. It would be great to get a voucher and then just wander around. I think you're probably right about 16gb selling out first. Good Luck! If I'm unsuccessful you may see me at BB too.

what a whiny bunch of spineless, humorless co-dependent people we've become in America.
If you know history, you know he was talking about Stalin & others who "erased" generals & others who were ousted or assassinated. They then airbrushed them out of all photos.
So I guess that means that the Steinbrenner was Hitler and McCarver approved of the death camps right?
I thought it was actually funny and harmless. But I guess at every moment, someone has to be offended or hurt.
What's happend to this country?!!!! A bunch of 7 year olds running for mommy.
Oh, and Macfan-please go somewhere else with your hysterics.

The official TRIM support is already in Snow Leopard builds for the new Macbook Pros with SSDs and it's in Lion as well. The official support is only for the Apple's SSDs, no TRIM support for third party SSDs. There is a way to enable it for any SSD that supports TRIM, but it is a hack. Here's the thread: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1125400
Apple are usually conservative about their SSDs, they don't go for the top of the line SSDs. So, it is normal to see conservative speed from Apple's SSDs.
TRIM enabler is a hack, and some people have reported that their read/write speeds have dropped significantly after installing it on their macs. I'm worried that it even does the job, but I am guessing it just changes the kernel so that instead of saying 'No' it says 'Yes' under TRIM support in SERIAL-ATA.

Yeah the buttons at the bottom of that window are the ones.
Wow, they've completely changed the "about this Mac" screen for the first time in Mac OSX. Its looks way better, and you no longer need to go into the system profiler to get basic stats, or use iStat Pro. Wow...:D Can NOT wait to get Lion!
It's still not in the dashboard so I'm not too sure about it replacing iStat Pro. Don't think I want to click :apple: -> About this Mac -> System and then view the information. Would rather just hit F4

What geographical location are you in?
I'm in Wisconsin at the moment. I didn't notice it when I was back in New York a couple of weeks ago.
open the Activity window
I'll do that next time I notice the problem.

Processor: bus speed I originally had this, but couldn't find it for every model. I'll try and add it.
Memory: how many open slots I was considering doing another 'Upgrade Guide', but perhaps one great big one would be best...
HD: speed of HD Something I got rid of purely because I couldn't find the speed of the Mac mini's (is it that bad? Again, I'll try...
Optical: speed of Superdrive *adds to list*
Display: external monitor spanning vs. mirroring Is this really needed, as you can usually hack it anyway.
Price: US$ as well *cough*
Ports: PowerBooks have a PC card slot; also maybe a separate category for audio to do list.
Notes: maybe make a separate box for "Last Updated" good idea.
...enter the specs you want (i.e. combo drive, FW800, USB2, 128 MB Vram), and then it would give you the various machines that can be configured that way, with prices... I was planning on doing something similar eventually. Maybe the ability to turn columns or rows on and off.
How about having a seperate BTO column, instead of cramming it in with the standard config? What are your thoughts on that?

Thanks for the heads up chrono about the collision detection, but that was not really where I was getting at.
Perhaps this image will make it clearer.

The merging part is where I'm stuck.
I want the decay of the 'barrier' realtime, not a bunch of sprites displaying a decaying barrier.
Think of Worms where you blast away a piece of ground....how do they do that.
Cheers

I was going to get the first tube to Covent garden which gets in at 5:44. The bus is always an option though...
I'm beginning to consider not going to bed at all, going to my meagre 2hours of lectures from 9-11am (depending on whether I have my iPad 2 in hand, I'm really not bothered if I miss them) and then get some sleep in the afternoon.
So yeah, 4am would be good for me unless you wanted to get there a bit earlier? I imagine most people would be getting the first tube in actually...

Hi guys,
I unfortunately am unable to press the option key while starting up as its locked and I was wondering whether theres anyway of allowing the disk to be ejected (after the windows installation) from windows without having to switch back to mac?
Thanks :)

You know there's already a couple of threads discussing the features of Lion, why create another?
Because after a while all these threads become so big, it is difficult to keep track of what's going on. You don't have to read the thread if you don't want to.

I'd definitely go for the lighter model. Of course you're going to have to factor in costs but if they are the same price you should definitely get the lighter one.
I have a BlackBook and although i don't really mind the weight, it gets tiresome carrying that along with stuff for school when I'm constantly walking long distances. A new backpack will probably remedy the problem though :)

How about this one :) A real RED iPhone 4
I have no problem with the red i4, rather like it as a matter of fact. The rest of the phone is the most hideous looking thing I have ever seen.
